tryp
I have been on 100 mg Zoloft for little less than a month. After the first week or so, it kicked in and I felt absolutely normal. Then, 3 or 4 days ago, the depression and anxiety started to creep back. I'm not too too bad, but it's not showing any signs of lifting again. I'm having really bad insomnia and nightmares, bad anxiety and sudden drops into depression. The other night I tried to go to sleep at 10 pm (my usual time) after having had my usual 150 mg of Seroquel. Instead I ended up staying up until 3 am ordering transcripts and filling out medical school applications at frantic pace. My pdoc is out of town. She won't be back for another two and a half weeks. She gave me permission to fiddle in her absence if I needed to. Should I go up to 150 or hang out at 100 for a while longer? How long do I wait before knowing I need to go up? c-
yeah, after a bad run with celexa, round 2 is zoloft. i'm being started at 50 mg of zoloft, but was on 120 mg of celexa. celexa felt like it fried my brain, or so it felt anyway, memory, cognative, etc. but i would titrate up a dose, and the anxiety / depression would become manageable, increase the dose, it goes away for 3-4 days both my girlfriend and i noted a deteroration of the little stability it provided. i guess if your p-doc gave you permission to fiddle, knowing the maximum dose would be advisable. however from what i've read of your posts, i'm not telling you anything you don't already know. i did learn by trial and error, that spacing seroquel and celexa apart timewise was better than chowing them both at the same time. i think they are spaced 90 min apart. i'll do the same when i start zoloft on friday. c-
Indigo 'n dye
... She gave me permission to fiddle in her absence if I needed to. Should I go up to 150 or hang out at 100 for a while longer? How long do I wait before knowing I need to go up? My Pdoc also told me to adjust the dose PRN. Some weeks 100 mg does it; other weeks 300 keeps the lid on and the drapes open. I would give the 100 two more days/nights and then shift up. FWIW, Indigo
Azk
I think you should go for it, a month is plenty of time between dose increases. I'm at a month since having the Celexa bumped to 30, and I just had it bumped to 40 by my GP today.
tryp
Yeah, I think I'm going to up it. I've given it maybe three days to fade on its own, but I'm just feeling more and more gnarly.
Azk
This sounds like something a benzo might help, but i see you've tried a few. Maybe they don't agree with you. Also, shouldn't you be taking EPA and DHA in equal amounts from the omega 3 supplement?
tryp
Benzos really don't agree with me. They make me depressed and suicidal. The AAPs agree with me much better. Also, since EPA is the one that actually seems to help depression, it's the super high EPA pills that are supposed to be best for depression. Azk
You should consider trying Vitamin D at 2000 - 8000 IU per day, I notice it really helps my motivation. I barely notice benzos. Except for the anxiety being gone, they're like water to me.
llama44
If this helps I'm on 200mg of zoloft and have no side effects from it. I hope the increase helps you.
