Hotmess
For years I took Bupropion XL (Generic Welbutrin) and got it through my insurance companies RX program. I recently restarted it and got it from my local pharmacy and the pills look totally different as they are much much smaller and a different color. I wouldn't think much of it except when I looked closely I see that THIS new bottle says Buproprion HCL XL and not just XL like what I used to take. Anyone know the difference? (aside from the way they look) Thanks!
Indigo 'n dye
Wellbutrin is bupropion hydrochloride: HCL= hydrochloride. Depending on manufacturer, generic is either Bupropion or Bupropion HCL. Bupropion or Bupropion HCL XL is the extended release version. However, these questions are nearly always better answered by your pharmacist. Hotmess
So correct me if I'm wrong but you are saying that they are the same thing. HCL and non HCL? ( I know I could ask the pharmacist and I guess that will be my next step but I thought maybe someone here might know)
Indigo 'n dye
Yes, they are the same thing, at least as far as I know.
