milkman
ok so im waiting for a new ap to come out in aus as u seen in my other post. i heard a new ap in america called fanapt(iloperidone)is out. ive tried invega, risperidone and ziprasidone and neither of them worked! does this mean fanapt wouldnt work either coz they are part of the "done" family. that is that their names end in "done" for example risperi "done" paliperi "done" ziprasi "done"
Guest Vapourware
Invega and Risperidone work in very similar ways, so it's not a surprise that if one of them didn't work for you, then the other didn't work either. Ziprasidone and Iloperidone are medication that works in different ways [don't ask me specifics, I'm not medically-minded enough to answer] so it doesn't mean Iloperidone wouldn't work for you either. However, unless you've tried it, it's hard to say that it will actually work for your symptoms.
Aurochs
Ziprasidone and iloperidone are very different from risperidone and paliperidone. There's no guarantee that Fanapt would or would not work for you. I do note that it doesn't seem to be any more effective than any other AAP currently on the market. helloheartbreak
Fanapt works for me and the others didn't, except clozapine. I was even allergic to risperidone. I think that they're all different enough that it's worth a try.
