Catnapper
I've been on Lamictal for a year and a half, on the Teva generic the whole time. I also started Teva generic Ambien at about the same time. Last month I used a different pharmacy that had a different brand of generic Ambien, and there's a big difference in effectiveness from the Teva version. Has anyone switched generic brands of Lamictal from Teva to something else and noticed an improvement?
Thomas
I've used four different versions, including Teva, and all seem to work the same for me. At least so far. One was the real thing. Tommy
AnneMarie
I've taken name brand and Teva generic w/o noticing any real difference. Haven't been on other generics, so can't say the difference there. Anecdotally, any difference I've heard about with any generic (usually something other than Teva) is resolved by adjusting the dose. If that holds, then any difference is probably already adjusted for in your dosing.
Thomas
I do find the different shapes and colors confusing when filling my pill box. Tommy
daisy
I personally found that the Teva generic was just as effective as the brand, but YMMV.
Guest slowinggoingcrazy
I used my insurance company's mail order rx plan a few months ago and within about two weeks I noticed a dramatic difference in the effectiveness of my lamotrigin. I got scared that it had "pooped out" on me. Called pdoc and he had me go back to Teva lamotrigin. Within a few weeks, I noticed the positive effects of the switch. 6un6silent6
For what it's worth, I take the Teva version of Ambien and it does work but it seems like the name brand packs a harder punch and puts me down quicker. It may just be my imagination but oh well. The generic works and is much cheaper.
crtclms
I actually am under the impression that I have minor problems with Teva products. I can't say that with scientific certainty, but I seem to do better on other generics. It isn't so bad that I ask for dosage changes, and for some reason, my pharmacist seems to switch up generic providers, so I don't have it every month. But I know my generic Ambien is Teva.
