I did a search and found nothing here about this french anti-depression drug. Is anyone on the board in the trials for Saredutant?

I'm not, but it's not like any other antidepressant I've ever heard of. I was starting to wonder if there weren't two saredutants until I found the thing I just linked to and read this:

Tachykinins have been implicated in the pathogenesis of many diseases and disease processes including inflammatory pain, emesis, depression, Parkinson's disease and inflammatory bowel syndrome.

I didn't know it was studied for asthma, either.

OK, this drug is apparently an NK2 antagonist.  What does that mean?

It is in stage III trials for anxiety and depression.

The same company that created this drug also has another drug in stage III trials that is a beta-3-adrenoceptor agonist.  I have no idea what that is either.

But as a treatment resistant depression with comorbid anxiety, these drugs can't get here soon enough!!  Wonder what the side effect profile is on these?
