Thought id say hi im a mum to a newly diagnosed 11 year old who has OCD, Tourettes, Aspergers and borderline ADHD n is being closely monitored as he has quasi-psychotic symptoms.....ive been trying to get them to diagnose him since he was 3 as everyone could see it except my local CAMHS n in the end we had to go to Cardiff to get an experts opinion and she diagnosed him. Look forward to have a read and joining in were I can:)

bikemad, I'm glad you found us and I hope that our forums will be of use to you in learning about symptoms and medications. However, we are a first-person site: we all have mental illnesses and we invite others with mental illnesses to become members. There are other websites that specialize in assisting parents and/or family members of people with MI issues, Aspergers, etc.

Good luck and I hope you can find helpful treatments for your son.

Hello and welcome.

I'm a 54-year-old male with Asperger's ("Solidly Aspergers'" the diagnosing Dr said when I asked if I was at all borderline.)

I wasn't diagnosed until I was 48.

There is another group, that I can recommend, primarily aimed at parents of those with Autistic Spectrum Disorders.

I quite often see "CAMHS" preceded or followed by expletive emoticons, there. The forums and the chat room do have a few of us adults with ASD as well.

Thanx both...ive got that link open on another page ready to look at......I hope its ok with you if I do maybe have a nose as it might give me an insight into were my son his coming from and feeling etc he has if that makes sense:)
