DannyBoy
My PDoc wants me to go up to 150mg from 50mg. Says can't go any higher on the Lexapro 20mg. Did it help depression for you? I'm not on the XR stuff, just the regular. I'm hoping this is my ticket out of this hole I'm in.
tryp
It's been really good for my depression. I took it with Celexa for a while, and now I'm taking it with Zoloft. It's a good add on to SSRIs

Also what dosage does Seroquel officially become "anti-psychotic"
tryp
There's no determined dose for that. Tends to be somewhere around 600 mg. I've had some stuff - it made me sleepy and foggy at first, but it wore off. I've hallucinated a bit on it, but nothing really scary and nothing while fully awake. Just hyp/hyp stuff. DannyBoy
Interesting, thanks. I've taken Seroquel for many years but never really more than 50mg. I just wonder what happens when going up on it.
SashaSue
Seroquel's been the only thing that's worked for my depression. I don't have any weird side effects or other issues. There's really not a clear line at which it becomes effective as an AP. Studies have shown AP efficacy starting around 400mg. Most people seem to need to go higher than that to get the best results. Don't be surprised if you need to go about 150mg to deal with your depression.

Azk
You might want to ask for a second opinion, another doctor might be willing to go with the Lexapro before increasing the Seroquel, and if that works you'd probably have less side effects. APs are rather iffy as the primary med for depression, IMO.
DannyBoy
Does anyone else's heart beat fast about 30 minutes after taking seroquel?
