Guest Recluse
I know this is a largely relative question, but for those of you who take Vyvanse, how much is enough? So far, I've been on Vyvanse for three days, at 30mg each day in the morning, and yet I still find myself very scattered. This doesn't seem like the kind of drug that needs to saturate or accumulate, so have I waited long enough to decide whether or not it's working before calling my psychiatrist and bringing this up, or should I give it a while longer? mj1127
Have you taken other stims before? I took Adderall XR before Vyvanse, and my pdoc told me that 10mg Adderall was equivalent to 30mg Vyvanse, 15 to 40, etc. I was on 10mg Adderall and went to 30mg Vyvanse for a long time. I didn't want to go up, but eventually came to the conclusion that the 30 wasn't doing enough. I talked my pdoc into raising the dose to 40, and it was much better. That said, I found it took me a few weeks to get used to Vyvanse. Initially, it made me very irritable when it was wearing off, but that went away after a few weeks. I'd give it a week at least and see how you are, and would talk to your pdoc if you aren't better after a week or two.

I've taken ritalin (age 10) and adderall (age 18) before, but that was a long while ago. I have some other things to talk to the pdoc about, and I'll mention it when I call, but I won't immediately request a dosage change in the hope that 30 does it. Right now, I don't see much improvement. I can read without skipping, which is definitely good, but I still catch myself drifting away frequently. Thank you for the help, and it does really help.
