GrayEyes777
I was given these .25 mg wafers to take (and to double up on them if one didn't work) and either I feel just sort of "loop-y" or I feel nothing at all. Xanax has always worked like a charm for me in the past - and I've gone from taking them on a continual basis (3x/day) to PRN only. So I know I don't have addiction issues. I'm currently in the middle of a med change, and I need a benzo that works for me! Terri
GrayEyes777
If Xanax works, why the switch to klonopin? Not sure why - new pdoc, she thought it was a better idea because then all you do is take one in the morning and one later on in the afternoon - as opposed to 3x/day with the Xanax. It works if you look at it that way - but if the pill doesn't do anything for you, it's pretty much meaningless, isn't it..... Terri
AnneMarie
Are you saying that your anxiety isn't helped or that you don't feel a physical effect from the pill? I would talk to your pdoc. Assuming that the answer to the above question is that your anxiety is not helped, the answer could be to simply raise the dose. I don't know the conversion/comparable doses, but do know that xanax is consider a more potent immediate acting pill.
gizmo
I recently switched from xanax to klonopin. Do you not feel that "whoosh" that xanax gives you while taking the K? That's normal. The thing to figure out is if you are having anxiety while on the K. I feel nothing after I take klonopin, but I notice that I have no anxiety or anxious thought processes after taking it. So that's how I know it works. It can be difficult to lose that big sigh of relief xanax gives you, I know.
GrayEyes777
It just feels like I'm taking a sugar pill - doesn't do anything for the anxiety. And right now with the change of antidepressants, I'm going through such a rough time - waves of depression and anxiety. I guess I could try taking .5 mg of Klonopin tomorrow and see if it helps. It's quite possible that .25 mg just isn't enough - however, .25 mg of Xanax does seem to help somewhat. I don't know - I know I'n not making good decisioons right now becaause I'm just in a bad place. II just get so nervous about benzos and don't want to do anything stupid with them.
