Actually, she's a spill-over from last semester, but we've gotten closer this year because she consider's me cool... I'm down with that. She also smokes pot - a lot. I'm down with that too, even though I do not indulge, far be it for me to deny others their happiness. Anyway, I was hanging out at her place the other day and one of her friends (a stranger to me) comes in and my friend leaves to get a drink... The other girl takes my hand and says (and I quote). "You look like..." she peered closer and I thought she was going to say I reminded her of someone she knew, maybe a mutual friend of theirs, but no, she continued, "... you're really old." I should mention that I think the girl was already stoned by the time she got there... but yeah. still rude. That was, like, four days ago and it still chaps my ass. Not only is it the first time I've been TOLD I look old, but jeez, what do you say in that situation??? I said, "Um, yeah. I'm 43." and she was like, "Yeah, I thought you looked way older than we are (they're early 20's)." So, my evening was ruined... and man... that just truly sucked. I smoked the stuff nearly every day for two+ years, mostly for relief from feeling shitty.. but those idiots that would come over to my house and get stoned with my roommates were bloody obnoxious. Maybe it was just my irritability, but everything about them made me want to smash some car windows. It made me feel more functional, whereas those people just became total morons.. Can't blame the drug, though, just like you can't really blame money for causing problems -- "Money doesn't change people, it just helps them be who they are" -- Dan Stark. I am very much pro pot use for medical and even stress related issues...if it works ..why not .. but pot heads or stoners can be pretty lame undermotivated assholes you are right do not let her have free rent in your brain! twirp! The girl was a bit of an airhead (not sure if it's the pot or her general personality). While watching Jesus Christ Superstar she kept asking the most inane questions, like "why are they singing?" and "who is that?" (Pilot, Judas, Simon, etc...). I suppose she might not know anything about Jesus (she claimed to be an Agnostic - but that doesn't excuse ignorance. I'm Agnostic and I know). I know a few pot heads that are just oblivious and not only when they are smoking. It gets on my nerves a little but I am glad to ssee you are over it. I would definitely be a bit more wary about what kind of people I live with in the future. Some people must be shaken violently until they catch on. Maybe that's why some people feel they should remove themselves from living with others, or in the very least purchase extravagant presents in retribution.
