snow-white
I have had insomnia for probably as long as I have had depression. This started in 7th or 8th grade. I would stay up really late watching TV or sneaking on the computer. Last year, in my freshman year of college, I was getting such little sleep and it was really negatively impacting my academic performance. Anyway now I am on Effexor XR and Seroquel. The Seroquel helps me sleep and I take them both at night. I noticed that now I am waking up remembering the dreams I had. This has never happened before. I was always dreamless. I'm wondering if it's because I was never getting proper REM sleep. Has anyone else had medication effect their dreams?
notfred
It is more likely you have always dreamed but now you are remembering your dreams. It is common to not remember dreaming and unusual to not dream or not have REM sleep. All psycomeds effect the central nervous system of which dreaming, sleeping, and memory are all very much a part of. It is no surprise each of these can be effected by taking psycomeds. Some report dreams are more vivid or take on other characteristics if they are on psycomeds. nf
