snoozzinsuz2 Posted October 22, 2010 Share Posted October 22, 2010 anyone ever taken just 1mg of abilify in their cocktails... pdoc just added it but 2mg was about putting me in a coma so now we are cutting it in half (not an easy task by the way) is a dose this small really going to be doing anything? she said wait a week until I go back but I really don't know what she's hoping to see... Since you felt over-sedated, it makes sense to scale it down and ramp up more slowly. Slow titration can mitigate a lot of side effects. Why not increase the Seroquel a bit, maybe an extended release? I don't know what symptoms your doctor is treating with the Abilify. It takes patience and courage to work on bipolar cocktails. mj1127 Posted October 22, 2010 Share Posted October 22, 2010 I started on 1mg and it was like a miraculous AD - I was completely without depression. Then we started playing around with the dose trying to fix other symptoms, and it has never worked that well since, not even at 1mg. It still does pretty well, I'm just not calling the Vatican about it. Anyway, I hope it works as well as that for you. I should mention that for many people, the common side effects - sedation is one of them - tend to go away in about two weeks. I found during that period that taking them at night made me less sleepy in the morning so you might want to try that. One more thing - do you have a pill splitter? Due to the loooog half life it really does not matter if you get the pill cut perfectly in half. snoozzinsuz2 Posted October 22, 2010 Author Share Posted October 22, 2010 @bplady-- 50 seroquel was for sleep... if we went any higher i was a zombie we tried the XR but it wasn't really doing anything other than being really activating. I guess I am just super sensitive because even at this micro dose I am knocked out and it is SO hard to wake up just like it was with the Seroquel... and the problem is that I usually have to be up by 530 at the latest but I can't afford to go to bed at 8 or 9 cuz I would never get lesson plans done, papers graded, etc. I guess we will just keep playing but so far I am not a fan of Abilify... @not-- I have a pill cutter... but dang those things are TINY...
