How does sugar/carbs affect your mood?

So, How does sugar and/or carbs affect your depression/ mania/ pyshosis/ nuerosis/ whatever?

I find that the less sugar (mainly sugar, but other carbs too) I eat the better mood I am in and the more energentic I feel. I find that the more protein and vegetables I eat the better off I feel, so I have been focusing my diet on not eating breads, or pastas, or cakes, or cookies, or things like that, and moving it over to lots of protein and vegetables. I feel much better just from eating better, and eating less junk.
