Guest ahalo
I just recently upped my Prozac and started Geodon. I had akathisia with Abilify when I got to a higher dose. I have it now. I'm on 60 mg Prozaz per day and 60 mg Geodon 2X/day. I hate this akathisia. I hate that I had to go off abilify because of it. I'm going to call my doctor but is it more common with Prozac or with Geodon?
AnneMarie
It is most common with antipsychotics, which Geodon is. Yes, call your doc, but try some benedryl in the meantime. It helps some people sometimes.
ahalo
PS he had said we might go back to Abilify and use to Vistaril to try to control the akathisia. Has anyone had success with this? I loved Abilify.
netsavy006
I've never had success in controlling akathisia on Abilify which is why I don't take it. I've tried 3 controller medications (Cogentin, Artane, Valium, one time a combo of Artane and Valium) but none of them worked. I attempted taking abilify 5 times and at this point, I'm not risking taking it again. I've tried dosages in the range from 1 to 15mg QD.
