netsavy006
I'm just curious about this (not going to change medications), but I've noticed that for the past few days since I've been home, I've noticed that I've been more OC-like and I'm wondering if it has something to do with the "dopamine blockade" that comes with taking the combination of Clozaril and Zyprexa. I understand this is a very weird question but I was just wondering because this just started and I was wondering if the 2 AAP combo had anything to do with it. Thanks, Andy. (P.S. - please don't make fun of me - I'm being serious)
Kodos
OCD is strongly associated with serotonin. Hence, the use of SSRI's for OCD. Perhaps you have more anxiety since you've been home? Increased anxiety can increase OCD symptoms.
Velvet Elvis
APs can help with the intrusive thoughts some people have with OCD, like I have thoughts that I might hurt someone that come out of the blue. Taking more of them shouldn't make any of them worse however. As part of the akathisia I suffered from haldol I did suffer a worsening in OCD symptoms however. I became absolutely paranoid that my girlfriend was going to be hit by a stray arrow from some kid playing with his archery set on her way home from work. It was at the point that I realized the absurdity of these thoughts that I discontinued the medication.
