Celexa increase wise?

I already emailed my doctor about this, but I wanted to post here too to get additional feedback. I've been on the below medications for a while, but lately I've been feeling a lot of fear and uncertainty. Klonopin takes the edge off but doesn't "fix" it, so I'm looking to increase my dose of Celexa.

I'm taking 40mg... would 60mg make much of a difference? Any experience with specific dosages? When I was on Lexapro, I took 30-40mg/day.

It's possible that 60mg of Celexa could make a difference that 40mg doesn't make. I remember when I was on 25mg of Zoloft it wasn't helping me at all so the doctor had to increase the dosage to 50mg and then when I got evaluated by a new doctor she found out that 50mg wasn't doing enough for me so she increased it to 100mg. As long as it's within the dosing limits, there's a possibility it could work.

You'll never know unless you try. But do give it about 3 - 4 weeks though for the new dose to kick in. Don't just expect the new dose to be working by the end of the first week.

I reacted badly to Celexa, so take this however you like...but if you are having issues like this while on celexa, I don't think increasing the dosage is going to help. A bit of reading suggests that the effect of 40mg and 60mg are not all that different...by all means, try it, but consider switching SSRIs if it doesn't end up working out. Drugs poop out, celexa does that to some people.

I suppose it's worth trying, and if that doesn't work, I think I'll try Zoloft.

I take 80mgs, 40 in the AM and 40 at night, mostly for OCD, and it's definitely more effective than 40 mgs once a day.
