ParanoidAndroid
I'm on 2.5 mg abilify for 10 days now and today my thumb won't stop twitching. I just relax my hand and my thumb twitches uncontrollably about once every few seconds. There is also a bit of an urge to clench or stretch my hand. This is weird. So I called the pdoc and she gave me some 2 mg pills in hopes that the slight dose reduction and just waiting it out will help. If it doesn't we'll go down to 1mg. Also I haven't figured out what time of day to take it. If I take it in the morning I feel peppy for a few hours but by afternoon I feel sedated. Taking it before bed has gotten me mixed results, sometimes I sleep well, another time my wife said I was yelling in my sleep! So now I'm taking it with dinner figuring it takes a few hours for the sedation to kick in. I'm feeling some symptom relief though, so I hope the twitch goes away. ParanoidAndroid
Yes the thumb is still twitching on the 2 mg. But less. I hope it calms down in the next few days. I took my 2 mg in the morning (as opposed to night) today and I didn't get drowsy until 4 pm or so (that's kind of normal, I think, for me, on a Friday) so maybe morning dosing will work. ParanoidAndroid
On just 1 mg the last couple days. Thumb twitch is completely gone. Let's hope the symptoms also stay gone. So far so reasonably good.
ParanoidAndroid
I can't quite find that twilight zone dose of Abilify that helps with the anxiety but doesn't cause twitches. It seems to be either one or the other. However the Abilify does stop the broken records from playing, I should be thankful for that. I'll try to be patient with the 2 mg for a while longer, talk to the doc next week. Wonder if this is the last stop before going back to good old Lexapro.
