Guest Bourbon
I have been taking wellbutrin, two 150mg a day for about 2 weeks now and I feel no different, so side effects or change in mood or anything. I was on celexa for a month, but I told my doctor that I didn’t really feel any better and was having side affects so she put me on this. I have an appointment with her in two days and I think if I say that I feel no different then she'll just put me on something else. Did I give this stuff enough time to work? By the way it’s for depression.
olga
It depends on a lot of factors. Everyone is so different. I took the SR version of Wellbutrin and couldn't see any difference in how I felt. On the other hand, when I started the XL version, I felt a difference the first week. As a rule of thumb, we usually tell members to take a medication for 6 to 8 weeks before giving up on it. Particularly if you are not getting any nasty side effects, why not keep taking it and give it a chance to work? olga
null0trooper
Did I give this stuff enough time to work? By the way it’s for depression. As Olga said, Wellbutrin can be tricky for some people. If you happen to be a "fast metabolizer" (refers to liver enzyme activity) two weeks might not even be enough time to get stable medication levels in your bloodstream, let alone get good results from the medication. If you're doing OK, and having no side effects (WB has a couple of really wacky ones - have you read the patient information sheet?), I think your best bet is to try to go a full 6-8 weeks before changing the dose or changing the meds around. kariered
I take Wellbutrin SR for depression and ADHD. I have been on it for 2 1/2 months. For the first 1 1/2 months I didn't feel much. Then one day I woke up and felt completely different. I felt happy and I actually wanted to talk to people. I could think clearly. I still feel pretty decent now. I started out on the Wellbutrin pretty slow. I hate taking medication. My advice is to really try to keep taking it, maybe up your dosage. My pdoc had me up my dosage after one week. Give it some time. It just might work.
