netsavy006
I've noticed that for the past few days since the Clozaril has been increased to 125mg and I was changed over from Ativan to Xanax, I notice that I have been sleeping in the early morning. It's not been a problem right now but I hope I can adjust. Tuesday, I slept on the bus ride over to program, but was able to function (it was from 7:30 till 9 that I slept). (Took morning medications @ 6:45am) Today, I had to take my medications around 7:30 and I had to walk with my mom and bro to the MD and I was falling asleep and and fell asleep in the waiting room from 9 till 10:30am. I had to go with them because after my brother going to the MD, I had to go to the lab for my blood work for Clozaril. My morning medications consist of Xanax 1mg, Topamax 50mg, Lithium 300mg, Centrum, Vitamin C, Fish Oil 1pm - Xanax 1mg 5pm - Xanax 1mg My bedtime medications are: Xanax 1mg, Clozaril 125mg, Topamax 100mg, Lithium, 600mg, Colace 200mg Mom thinks it could be the Clozaril increase, but I think it could be because since Xanax is released immediately by the body that my body needs to still adjust to a morning dosage. I'm not sure what makes me sleepy early in the morning. Could a 25mg increase in Clozaril make this big a difference? The Clozaril increase and Atavan to Xanax change were made at the same time so I can't give a definite drug A or drug B relationship. I started the higher dose of Clozaril and made the benzodiazapine change on Friday 11/12. Thanks, Andy.
SashaSue
I think increases of most of the AAP's can be initially sedating. Why not try taking your pm meds earlier, and going to bed a bit earlier for a while?
netsavy006
I slept a little bit extra last night. I was able to sleep until 8 am this morning and I was able to stay up today. I tried using my Just Dance Wii game to help keep me up this morning after taking my morning medication to try to help stimulate me. I think that my Xanax dose might be a little high, but since I just had it adjusted from Ativan, I'm not going to have it changed for the sake of keeping things even and well adjusted, especially since I had a great therapy session today and she wants me to stay on the regimen I'm on for right now as she sees it's working for me. It's just hard because other than exercise (and without adding extra pills/stimulants (like caffeine)), what can you do to help combat medication sedation during the daytime hours? I find it strange asking this because in the 7 years I've been on medications, this is the first I've had this sort of problem. Thanks, Andy.
