starlys
Does anybody have any experience with Paxil withdrawal? I have been on Paxil since 1998 and I have been tapering VERY slowly for the past couple of years. Lately I have been tapering less than half a milligram a month and I was down to 11.4mg, but then after 3 weeks I started feeling really anxious, sick to my stomach and stopped sleeping. I've NEVER had a problem with sleeping. Paxil always made me sleep TOO much. I got scared and raised the dose back to 12mg. I had a week or two of feeling okay and now I'm back in the hole. I have insomnia, muscle twitches/spasms, loss of appetite, nausea, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation. How can I feel this bad when I am tapering incredibly slowly? Has anyone else been able to get off Paxil after long-term use and how did you do it?
Laume
I tried cold turkey and slow taper in the past and then went back on it ( what a dummy). Both are awful. The only thing that worked is when about a month ago I immediately went off 60 mg paxil and on 10 mg lexapro. A week of weirdness but none of the emotional issues. Harsh, harsh fucking med. Good luck
Moil
I think some have success cross tapering to something that is easier to get off of.
Isolde
I am down to 10 mg of Paxil. I might have to keep with that for a good long time. Maybe it will stop working like all the other ssri's I have taken, do. Weight is my main complaint. Wouldn't you think that by now, they'd figure out how to not make you gain weight?
