ADDinCollege
I've been reading a lot about this stuff called Ampheta-restore. It's supposed to reverse tolerance and make the medicine work better. I've been reading some other forums and I've seen some long time posters say good things about it. On the other hand, I've seen a lot of people register that same day to post about it (possible marketers?). Also, on there website they have a recommendation by this Dr. Frank guy from Nashville who recommends it. I googled him, he's an alleged felon. Needless to say I have have mixed feelings, some of the posts about it seem legitimate, others seem fake. I'm looking for a response from some one that has actually tried it, preferably some on that did not register today just to post here (marketers do that). I'm not looking for speculations on how fake it may or may not be, but some ones actual experience. P.S. I should be doing homework now, but this is far more interesting... AnneMarie
If the company and product are legit, why wouldn't they use a doc in good standing? This is a link to PubMed, the US National Library of Medicine. It has abstracts of all peer reviewed medical, biological, neurological, molecular, etc studies conducted for at least a few decades. It is a good place to check medicines and supplements. Query the supplement or its active ingredients to see if there is any research supporting their claim. notfred
Are you actually experiencing tolerance ? I became tolerant to the high but that has noting to do with legit effectiveness. Amphetamine was always effective for me, even after several years of use. nf
ADDinCollege
I could care less about the high. I found it annoying. I'm talking about focus. I've become tolerant to the focus affects of stims. It's driving me nuts. I'm already on tyrosine, taurine, glutamate, and magnesium taurate. If it wasn't for them, i'd be even worse, but i still cant get more than 7 hours out of my meds taking them twice daily, no matter how high my dose climes. I am, or was, not sure yet, hoping this would help...
notfred
I would try another formulation of amphetamine. nf
Velvet Elvis
It helps to switch up between methlphenidate and amphetimine sometimes. What's in that stuff anyway? try N-acytl l-tyrosine. It's a more bioavailable form of l-tyrosine. Like all amino acids, make sure you take it on an empty stomach. http://astore.amazon.com/crazyboards05-20/detail/B000GFSV28 also take a B complex http://astore.amazon.com/crazyboards05-20/detail/B00068UBLY as well as additional choline and inositol http://astore.amazon.com/crazyboards05-20/detail/B00068SIR8 Most importantly, EAT. Stimulants kill your appitite so it's easy to forget to get enough calories in at the right time. Pay attention to what time it is and eat when your body needs the food and don't wait until the end of the day when you finally feel hungry again. You might have to force yourself to choke it down, but EAT. Have you tried strattera?

Pay attention to what time it is and eat when your body needs the food and don't wait until the end of the day when you finally feel hungry again. You might have to force yourself to choke it down, but EAT. This is a really good point, and one that's so obvious that it doesn't come up often enough and sometimes gets forgotten about as a result. Even when there are no tolerance issues involved, it makes a huge difference in how well stims work for me. Partly it's just eating enough, period, but I've found that even more than that it's eating the right kind of stuff at the right time. If I get enough calories for the day, but most of them are coming late in the day when the med's wearing off and my appetite is better, it doesn't do much good early in the day. Same thing if I'm getting calories throughout the day but the stuff in the morning is just a bunch of junk for the sake of making sure I'm having something, like if most of it is just sugar from soda and stuff like that. For the meds to work well for me and for me to be able to get any work done, I have to make a point of (ideally) eating real food spaced out throughout the day, including plenty of protein. If I don't do that, most of the time all they're good for is keeping me from falling back asleep in the morning, so I'm awake and alert but still with no attention span, which is not terribly helpful. Guest amicrazy47
I am the complete opposite, after starting adderall IR 10mg in morning and 10 mg in afternoon, i was hungry. It did not do away with my appetite nor did it make me lose weight. Altho i can stay focused much better stay on a task and get out of bed. i am now 20 in the morn and 20 in the afternoon. i have put on about 6 lbs. Which makes me wonder why i am not the norm? ok maybe not the norm is the way to be putting it..LOL I have been on many meds, antidepressants, mood stabilizers, and so far this has been my life saver. altho now maybe i am thinking i need an extra added benefit. my mood has been slightly down the last week or so. thinking of adding abilify back to my regime. although i was on zoloft for quite a few yrs...but they say u cannot mix zoloft and add Most importantly, EAT.
