Hand Numbness When Waking Up From Sleep After Taking Invega

Recommended Posts

im having hand numbness and tingling after using invega

it usually happens when i wake up in both my hands and last 40 seconds , after my hand back to normal

i was never having this in my life before

i told my pdoc about it and he says invega have nothing to do with the numbness and tingling in the hands :excl:

i hope invega is not messing with my hands nerves

so anyone experience something similar to this situation ? i hope its not permanent

I sometimes wake with numb hands. For me, it's a symptom of carpel tunnel syndrome. Do you or have you done repetitive hand motion work? Typing, writing, assembly, etc are examples. Certain hobbies, musical instruments, some sports, and lots of others stuff can cause it, too. Something like this is probably your answer.

If it was systemic, your feet likely would be effected, too.

I'd talk to your GP.

thanks for the replays

its happening in my both hands the same time so i couldnt sleep on my both hands the same time

it only happened after taking invega i never have this problem before

i wake up 3 or 4 times every night cuz of the numbness its effecting my sleep , i even have this numbness when im extremely sleepy i mean before i sleep

i did bodybuilding for many years but it didnt effect my hand nerves in any way

i'll take multi vitamin especially vitamin b and make sure to sleep on my back only not the sides with my hands straight i'll do arms exercises too , also make appointment with a gp and nerves doctor

i hope this problem will vanish after i stop this poison invega

if anyone having this problem after taking invega please let me know

thanks

I agree with your pdoc and everyone else- go see your GP. I had the same problem about four months ago (both hands tingling on waking up) and thought it might be the Topamax, which DOES have that as a side effect - but it wasn't. I was sleeping wrong (on my back, btw) and it made my hands numb.

Not everything is a side effect of the meds. Just because people aren't saying what you want to hear about "this poison Invega" doesn't mean they are wrong.

These are classic carpal tunnel syndrome signs. You can get wrist braces at the drugstore to wear when you sleep that hold your hand in a neutral position. No matter what position you fall asleep in, you move around in your sleep so it's normal to have your hands move to where they compress the nerve that runs through the carpal tunnel at the base of your hand.

Going to the GP is the right thing to do, but in the meantime, try the brace and see if it helps. You can have carpal tunnel and have no symptoms during the day, but the numbness on awaking is a clear indication that's what wrong. A simple ergonomic change at work may be all that's needed to correct it. I don't think it's caused by Invega or any other meds you may be taking.
