Hi all,

I have had to increase my Seroquel from 400mgs to 600 mgs. But because of tachycardia and other side effects, I can only take 200mg at a time. So I take 200 at 6pm, 200 at 8pm, and 200 at 10pm. Not too pleasant, as I'm always feeling stoned and hungry all evening. I also take 200 mgs of Solian in the morning, with no side-effects.

Just wondering - if Seroquel's half life is 6 hours, like I have read, should I take some of it in the morning to get a better antipsychotic coverage? Like 400 at night, and 200 in the morning? I just want to function as best I can, and I'm not feeling totally sane at the moment (which is prob why I'm obsessing about taking Seroquel in the morning).

Should I space my Seroquel dosage out during the day for better effectiveness? I am reluctant to because of the sedation, but I want to be as psychosis-free as possible. Am I being silly? And it won't really matter if I take it all at night?

Any advice would be good!

Cheers.

Have you tried the extended release Seroquel? I'm on Seroquel for anxiety and I take the IR at night and then I take some of my dose in XR in the morning. I just wasn't getting the coverage I needed from taking my entire dose in IR.

Thanks for the replies.

The XR Seroquel gave me horrible akathisia. So I have to take the IR.

Would taking it in the morning give me better coverage than taking it all at night? Or will it not make a difference?
