nibblerd
The researcher that diagnosed me as bipolar sent me an email letting me know that there's a clinical trial starting in January for a new bipolar antidepressant I've asked him for more information such as the name of the drug and what kind it is. I'll post it when I get it, unless someone else on here knows already.
jarn
Is it brand-new everywhere or just new to Canada?
zenbean
I'd find that really interesting, if it turns out to be effective, as I haven't been able to find an antidepressant that doesn't make me manic in very short order. Please let us know when you find out more info. Do you intend to take part in the trial, if you're eligible?
syNapseOuttaVit
This is a list of some trials going on at the National Institute of Mental Health in Bethesda, Maryland, US, for any US east-coasters who might be interested. NIMH
vanderk
The only antidepressants in trials that I'm aware of are Riluzole (an ALS drug that affects the glutamate system), agomelatine (Valdoxin to you in the UK and Scandanavia) and a new MAOI that sounds quite interesting. Of these I'll guess your doc is referring to the first.
