kittyloaf
Hi! I've been lurking for a couple weeks and thought I'd finally post. I'm 24, female, and I've been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder and social phobia. Before that I was diagnosed in 2002 with depression and 2006 with bipolar NOS. The social phobia diagnosis was in 2002 as well. The schizoaffective diagnosis happened just last week. The way I understand it is that it's schizophrenia + mood disorder. I graduated from college last year with a BS in biotechnology. I was stable on meds during my senior year (even though my dad died) but that changed when my mom died suddenly 2 months after graduation. Since then I've been slowly getting better but I'm nowhere near stable on meds. I want to go back to school to get an associate's degree in medical technology so I can be certified to work in a medical lab. I tried this semester but I ended up dropping out. I hope to try again next fall. I also volunteer at a hospital and two animal rescues.

The Emperor
Hello, and welcome to CB. I'm sorry to hear about your parents. You did a good job getting a degree, congratulations on that. I don't have anything serious as far as MI goes and I couldn't do school. I hope you like it here!
olga
kittyloaf, welcome to Crazyboards. That must have been so hard, to lose your parents at such a young age. It sounds like you still managed to accomplish a lot. Be sure to read our rules, and send a PM to one of the mods if you have a question. olga
