would like to get off of geodon

I was put on the med for not able to sleep, and I would like to stop taking it too. have arleady cut my dose down to 20 mg per night, without doctor's advice.

would like to stop taking it. only problem is I can't sleep, has anyone had this problem, and how long before you can sleep? really want off of this stuff.

I suggest asking your doctor about a titration schedule.

Talk to your doc. If Geodon is just for sleep, there are lots of alternatives. Many like Ambien, Lunesta, Sonata, etc you can take PRN. You need your pdoc to prescribe them, however. Besides, messing with med dosing without your doc is just plain stupid. Do you expect to keep up the lie forever? Pay lots of money for meds you don't take? Your pdoc knows when you fill prescriptions. Blow those off, you give yourself away. Your pdoc works for you. If you don't like your meds, then talk about it. If your pdoc won't work with you, then get another opinion. Just creeping around behind your pdoc's back is silly. I mean, really.
