Guest TheMusician777
Hey all, I have a psychosis(Bipolar Mania w/ psychotic features) and currently I am taking Saphris. I have been taking 5mgx2 at bed time for the past two months and things are going OK. However, I will be starting work soon and I told my doctor that I'm concerned about major drowsiness in the morning. He suggested that I go down to 5mgx1 at bedtime. I'm kind of concerned because the FDA approved amount for Bipolar mania is at least 10mg a day. My question/concern is will 5mgx1 at bed time be enough for me? I have been on all kinds of meds(Seroquel, Geodon, Zyprexa, Depakote, etc). Saphris is the first med I've been on that makes me feel really good w/o all the crap side effects. Keeping my fingers crossed, Nathan

Guest TheMusician777
Update: I'm doing good on 5mg saphris before bedtime. Only thing that I notice is that when i lay down in bed, my mind races for a few minutes, but then it goes away and I can get to sleep. Keeping my fingers crossed, TheMusician =)

Anna
If 5 isn't enough you might want to take 10 m.g. all at bedtime, if that works. Not sure if you HAVE to take saphris twice a day, I know you are supposed to due to the half life but you might be able to get away with it. I mean, you are taking it only once a day now as it is, right? Anna
