Anna
Logical and to the point, nice. And I love that it specifically mentions my favorite evil bitch, McCarthy. Anna
reddog
I found it on a blog I read. What *I* really like is that both make strong points about herd immunity, about how vaccination does not protect just the vaccinee (if there is such a word) but protects the general population by blocking the *spread* of infectious disease. It benefits everyone.
Aurochs
Who do I lobby to get this done?
Anna
I'd say start with local congress person and if you want to get all involved, contact the author. Maybe he has some ideas about how to start a group... Or there is one already. Anna
Aurochs
Wouldn't it be more effective to just go straight to the insurance companies? They do have latitude to vary rates by lifestyle choices, like smoking. Tell them we have a way to get them more cash and promote public health (ie, avert an epidemic), by tripling the premium on families with unvaccinated children. Side benefit: no ugly political battles. Now, how do I lobby an insurance company...
