csp-angie
After working on my dermatillomania (compulsive skin picking) documentary for over a year and a half, the trailer is out! Please share this in other online communities you are involved in, and to anyone. I want this video to get to the people who need to see it. Thank you! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGjhx7OGcGU My facebook page is: http://www.facebook....in/177738602694

azul
I agree with Dan S. Very brave. This is going to make people think a lot like it did with me, it's going to open some eyes on subjects and 'things that people do' that weren't previously illuminated, and it may encourage others to seek help. Thank you for posting this and sharing part of your story with us.

exl2398
that sounds like something I need to watch beyond just the trailer. I pick the skin on my arms, stomach, hips, and legs. it gets worse with depression, so when I am feeling alright I tend to heal mostly, though not completely, up. it is still a compulsion when I am feeling fine, too. I can't stand feeling the imperfections on my skin and I pick at them, too, rationalizing it as "you're making the imperfection go away," even though when I am done I am left with a scab, and the cycle continues because I can't stand the feeling of bumpy skin. right now I am healing up pretty well, but I don't know how long that will last, as my nails, which I have trimmed, will grow back. and then who knows what I will do. I have also been known to take showers to soften up the scabs. I picked at myself a few days ago and bled a lot.
