Derek
Well for 6 months since I start Effexor XR I've been feeling better. Feeling good at times. It's been real nice for a change. But over last few days my mood has started to drop into that "can't enjoy anything" mood that is the worst of depression to me. If I can't enjoy anything, I can't distract myself, and you know how that goes..... So anyways I'm only 6 months into treatment with effexor, isn't that too early for it to stop working? I could just be having a bad few days, but nothing significant has happened to cause this drop. Anyways, if you took effexor how long did it work for you? What did you move onto after effexor? vanderk
Effexor has a reputation for having a low incidence of poop-out. But it certainly can. This could be a small break-through event and it might well pass. Keep tabs on this and inform your doc. Are you experiencing other depressive symptoms than anhedonia? How about your sleep, appetite, energy, outlook, etc.? Hopefully, this is just a brief blip. But it could signal the need for a bump in dosage or an add-on med. notfred
I went several years on Effexor. I would not worry about poop out until raising the dose to the max. tolerated does not work. nf
Derek
Thanks for replies, I feel better, however it definitely feels like something is going on. I'm on 300mg Xr, I don't know what the max is. I hope you're right it's just a small event and will pass. Is it possible my depression could just be that bad? Bad enough to break through this dosage?
