Registered Nutjob
I recently started taking lamotrigine and pristiq about 2 1/2 weeks ago. Ever since I get intense headaches after orgasms. I also get way more headaches in general. Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen, or am I retarded?
missyou009
I've been on lamotrigine for about a week and a half, and for the first 5 or 6 days, I had a terrible headache all day everyday. They have since subsided though. I read that drinking Gatorade helps a lot of people, so I've been doing that, and I'm not sure if it's a coincidence that the headaches stopped or if it does really help...but it's worth a try. tryp
I'm not sure about headaches after orgasms, but Lamictal has a reputation for being a headache-y medication in general, especially when titrating up. Lots of people say that gatorade helps - I tried it once, but I couldn't tell if it was the gatorade or the tylenol. i found that splitting my dose morning and night made the headaches go away, but that's just me. jt07
A headache after an orgasm is a known condition and may not be related to the lamotrigine. Usually lamotrigine headaches come on after taking your dose. Lamotrigine headaches usually happen around a dose increase and subside about a week later. Registered Nutjob
Thanks! I have never had these headaches prior to starting these meds, so it is new for me. I just figured since I got the constant headaches that lamotrigine is doing it.
SashaSue
If it is the lamotrigine, it should get better with a little time.
rowen
I split the dose and drink a bit of extra water. Works like a charm.
