jarn Posted April 25, 2011 Share Posted April 25, 2011 I took my Ativan 1mg PRN this morning before I left for work. We have visitation for my grandfather tonight and the funeral is tomorrow. Family stuff is TENSE. I'm also not going to the graveside so who knows how that will be taken, but this whole thing is a bit of a debacle. I'm still freaking about tonight - had vivid dreams all last night about it. How bad would it be to take an extra 1mg later in the day? I probably can't tomorrow b/c I'll have to drive in the afternoon, but I thought it might help to calm me down today. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If your prescription says something like that max is 1 per day, then I don't know. But I think it's expected that you would have more difficulty under the circumstances. I don't think I'll take any tomorrow b/c I have to drive later in the day, but I'm a lot more relaxed now after having made it through one family interaction safely and well! crtclms Posted April 28, 2011 Share Posted April 28, 2011 I'm glad you didn't need it, but just to pile on, my Pdoc allows me to do that. I take 2mg daily, and 1mg PRN, and sometimes PRN is twice in one day. He probably wouldn't be thrilled with a 5th one (which I have done once), but he also knows I really don't abuse it.
