AnneMarie
I can't get into chat. I mean, I get absolutely nowhere just trying to click the chat link. Nothing. I'm still looking at the same page I was before trying to click the chat link. Okay, yes, it took me a long time to try to get into chat, but that's rambling off topic into a different story. I have a new computer with Windows 7 which I don't really know. Is this problem me or something about CB?

If that doesn't work, use another browser and see if it works.
Velvet Elvis
We have no control over chat. It's a subscribed service. Generally the best thing to do is to wait for it and/or refresh your browser.
Aurochs
Chat usually takes a couple minutes to load up, and it looks like it's not doing anything while it's loading. That's just how it is, unfortunately.
Anna
I've been having some issues with cb lately and getting my browser to respond to it. We aren't sure if it's our internet generally (they are doing maintenance on the lines) or cb itself.... fwiw. i've had a hard time getting into chat a few times. even with umbuntu (super fast) it usually takes a couple of minutes to load even on the best of days. Is the hard time getting into chat an error msg or it refusing to load even after it sitting there for the minuets it takes normally?

Anna What browser are you using? Type about:firefox into the address bar and paste the version string it gives you back. When was the last time you upgraded the OS? It shouldn't take more than 2-3 seconds for the main CB page to load. What version of ubuntu are you running? Here's some things to check: Install the packages "iftop" and "nethogs" and use those to monitor your bandwidth. Also take a look at "htop" and see what kind of CPU and memory usage you've got while the page is loading. All three need to be run in a terminal so you might need to get some help with it.
