redoctober
I was just prescribed Lexapro to assist with some Dysautonomia problems (my doc said that SSRI's can help to level-out the ANS), and have been experiencing some wicked nausea & slow motility problems over the past couple of days. Is this a typical starting side-effect with Lexapro, and should I expect it do diminish after a while?
RebelSong
I've never used Lexapro... But after my experience on Zoloft, I'd say you should definitely tell your doctor about the nausea, no matter what. No sense in being miserable with nausea while getting help, you know? <
Anna
talk to your doctor about it. Nausea and stomach upset is not uncommon on some SSRis, zoloft, like, did me in for that. Your doc can either prescribe a different SSRI or give you advice on how to handle the stomach issues. While I personally hate prozac, I will say that this is one where I have not really heard of people getting stomach stuff on it, and when I've been on it, I've never had stomach stuff. so, you have options. LunaRufina
I had really bad bad stomach problems on lexapro and we kept on reducing the dose because I kept saying "no I think it can work, let's keep trying" until I was taking like 2.5 milligrams or something just absolutely ridiculous and the pill cutter was my best friend. The stomach crap just didn't go away. It doesn' mean it won't for you, but if it is very severe and isn't letting up, and ESPECIALLY if it is interfering with your life, call your doctor. But I hope it isn't aat that point. If it's troublesome for you, like Anna said, there are many options so your doctor likely will have some ideas.
