Tian Ma
My pdoc just swapped my 15mg of remeron for 25mgs of clomiprimine. So far so good! I seem to be responding very quickly to it...On remeron I was sedated, jittery and sleeping literally 16 hours a day with gnawing hunger all of the time. With the Anafranil I can take it at night but it doesn't knock me out like the remeron did. And it's not nearly as stimulating as ssri (at least for me) It feels very neutral in that way. I assume if the anafranil continues to work that it was the norpinephrine action of the remeron that was responsible for the edginess. The only side effect from the anafranil is some mild dizziness which I hope goes away. Anybody out there find Anafranil of any help for whatever disorder? (I'm using it for depression, anxiety and ocd).
scatty
It worked well for my ruminations and obsessions although I am not formally diagnosed with OCD. I was on 175 mgs. It made me very tired and I was sleeping twelve hours at night and napping 2 hours during the day. It was very effective for the few months I was on it. koali777
It worked well for me...unfortunately, not for very long. Emotionally I was great! I was on it a year and a half ago in December and it was huge for me to feel more relaxed and happy during the darker months. But it didn't make me feel very well. It really dehydrated me, and even drinking a lot of water, I got horrible headaches and stomach aches. I gained a lot of weight as well, since it increased my appetite. Lastly, it had a strange effect on me... On a side effects sheet it said that it could be difficult passing urine, but I got to the point where I had to pee every 15 minutes, no exaggeration. No reason for it at all! And I mean it wasn't just because I was trying to hydrate; it'd happen even if I wasn't eating or drinking. So I had to get off of it. Too bad too, because it did help with OCD tendencies and happiness. I've heard good things about it though. I was originally on 25 mg and eventually went up to 75 mg. PeaceAndHarmony
I was on 300 mg for about a year and have just recently gone down to 250 mg. This medication has been the best thing that ever happened to me. It's the only medication that has help with the obsessive thoughts. The only reason that we have decreased my dose is because it is causing some mania right now. Anafranil is the ONLY medication that I have felt significant relief with. At the higher doses it can cause sedation and it can cause heart failure so I get an EKG and an blood level every 6 months. I can't imagine my life without Anafranil
