ahalo
Im on all the meds in my sig. Q: how long does it usually take for lexapro to start working? Because after 2 weeks my depression seems to have lifted but i havent yet increased from 10 to 20 mg. If its all in my head i dont want to call my pdoc and ask abt staying at 10. But if 10 works why take more? Im also on 22.5mg of abilify so maybe the combo is working. Idk. All i know is i feel soooo much better.
tryp
Well, the norm is 6 to 8 weeks but if it is working, its working - ymmv and all that. If it were me i would stick at 10 mg for a while. If you crash you can always increase it then.
Anna
Yeah, if you are feeling good at 10 there really isn't any reason to increase. 10 can be therapeutic. it's what dosage my husband takes and he is also finding it very effective at that dose. in fact, overdoing it can cause problems of it's own so let your moods guide you..... lex in my experience can work rather quickly because it is one of the more activating SSRIs..... and the abilify may be giving you that extra oomph, too. And it's always nice to know there is room for a dose increase later if sx start to return. why not ask pdoc? If he's reasonable, i can't imagine him having a problem w/it.
