tryp
I have a two year old laptop (Dell Inspiron 1420) with a broken illuminator (the thing that lights up the screen). I replaced it because it was getting to the point where a whole bunch of stuff was going wrong at once, but the illuminator is the only thing currently broken. I'm looking to sell it to one of the places that buys laptops for parts, but I'm not sure what a reasonable price is. Does anyone know? Also, if I do sell it, what's the easiest way to wipe the thing so that nobody can use it to get my personal info? Thanks
San
Your best way to get the most money out of it is to advertise on Kijiji or Craigslist. People often buy laptops for parts, and they'll pay more than a store. Always advertise with a price slightly higher than you actually want, because people will try to talk you down. If you don't want anyone getting personal information, format the harddrive and reinstall the operating system. Good luck!
