CookiesAndCream
I know there are a few threads about libido, but I don't think I have a problem there. I'm plenty desirous of sex. I'm just asking if anyone else on Paxil or something similar noticed a lack of orgasms. It may not be that, since I understand women sometimes have trouble having them, but I did read anti-depressants can affect it. Any information? HAL9000
I guess "me too" on Celexa causing orgasm problems. In my case it was still possible but it took a lot longer and by the time it happened it was more a feeling of relief. I went to a different drug (Wellbutan SR) and that restored my normal sexual function. Err normal for me anyway. ;-)
Anna
ssris are notorious for causing sexual side effects. i actually warn teens who've gone through puberty already on them about this as sometimes they wonder 'why don't i feel sexual' and whatnot and have no idea why. as they may have started at age 12 or whatnot.... zoloft messed with my sexual function briefly for about 8 weeks, then it wore off. it wasn't lack of sexuality exactly, just a certain numbness that i can't really describe adequately. the only other med that did this to me was high dose risperdal. there are work arounds.... talk to doc. aana
robn
Same problem. No lack of libido, but couldn't for the life of me have an orgasm. Great for the woman since I stayed hard for a long time.

Dani
Im on effexor 75mg at the moment and I have orgasms. Pretty much every other antidepressant ive tried has stopped them.
Thomas
I'm on 120 mg. Cymbalta and still usually have orgasms, but they take forever. And, of course, my libido is down so low that my wife feels like I'm not attracted to her. Tommy
Anna
Yeah, I get that too... it's an irrational thought? Maybe lots of cuddling and complements? I don't know, I know that makes me feel better. I get frusrated when Mr. A cannot come for many reasons 1) it's too rough sex for me to enjoy it becuase he can't feel anything 2) it takes FOREVER (this is not always a good thing) 3) it makes me feel unattractive, which is not helpful on top of like 20 lbs of AAP weight gain I just got 4) daytime sex is easier for some reason but I have to take my clothes of, ugh. I just close my yes...... 5) yes we are a sorry pair atm but lex thing is slowly improving for Mr.A so I am hoping... Anna Anna
jt07
It's horrible, and it ruined one long-term relationship for me. I think pdocs too often brush this side effect off.
