Reading and blogging CB on my phone

Recommended Posts

Just got a smartphone, it's a Samsung Galaxy mini, so an android. It has free internet for a year.

i was away this weekend and tried to log into CB via Google. All that showed up were the forums. No blogs, no place to log in, no status, nothing else.

is this "normal" when viewing on a phone? or is there some setting or app i need?

one good thing, i did enter the same gmail account i have for CB as the google account for my phone and i set e-mail notifications, so when Di replyed to my status update it popped up in my phone automatically :)

1) What browser are you using? The one that came with the phone, or did you download one?

2) Select the option to be instantly notified when a response is posted to a thread via the email option. Does it pop up?

3) when you click on the above email link, does it show the whole CB page, or just a short list of the topic and it's replies only?

4) If that's the case, you need to go down to the bottom and select full view. Then the page will load as normal.

5) Sign in if you haven't already.

6) Then go to the top where the page links are, click on chat and see if it loads. If so, then you're good.

7) It stands to reason that after all of that the blogs should be fine.. otherwise let me know and I'll figure it out if possible.

Mobile devices are supposed to get a stripped-down skin that's easier to use on a small touch screen. If you're actually getting the regular skin designed for computer screens and mice, there might be something wrong. VE would be able to say more about this.

IPB 3.2 will have a very different and (supposedly) much improved mobile skin that should be more intuitive.

Mine does both. The Mobile interface is the main one, and randomly will switch back to the mobile in time after I select to view it in normal format (that you can select at the bottom of the page).

The Mobile does have: Sign Out, Messenger, Members, Blogs, New Content, and Status updates. They are reachable by pushing the blue rectangle across the Crazyboards name. But these things aren't limited to they site settings you have in order to only view certain ones - it lists them all. You also cannot reach the Chat that way.

Hence the reason why I go to full view.
