gizmo
When I have a mood episode (depressed or manic, doesn't matter) I have real issues getting to sleep at night and staying asleep. I used to take xanax at night to help, but now my benzo is ativan and it just doesn't work. So I need a month or so of ambien every now and then to get my sleep situated. But it makes me snore so bad my husband has to sleep on the couch. I don't snore when I'm not taking the ambien. Is there something I can do to fix this? I need the ambien right now, but I feel so bad for kicking my husband out of bed. I take 10mg most nights, but there were several nights I needed to take 20mg to get to sleep. snugglepuss
Have you right using breath rights? My husband has a problem snoring when he takes pain meds and he took them years ago for his back. The opiates made him snore. The Breath Right stickers helped.
notfred
Do you sleep on your back ? Try sleeping on your side. nf
rowen
From what I understand (this is just based on what a doc told me), sometimes benzos and non-benzodiazepine sleep aids will cause snoring because it relaxes the muscles of the throat. If this is the case, maybe try a mouthgard. Sometimes that helps because it sort of keeps your throat open. The challenge, though is that you may find yourself spitting it out in the middle of the night.
