celtickarasu
I'm being switched from Seroquel to Latuda. The Seroquel works, but I'm 5'1" and I've gained so much I weigh 190 lbs. So far I'm on 40 mgs of Latuda, and have stepped down to 37 mgs of Seroquel. I know, weird number, I'm doing halves of halves here. In a few days, I hope to stop Seroquel completely. So far I haven't hallucinated, so the Latuda seems to work for that. I've been very nauseated, but I don't know if that's the Latuda or the Seroquel withdrawal. And I've noticed that an hour and a half after my Latuda dose, I go crazy restless. It's more physical than mental though, like if I don't move my body, I feel like I have to rip my skin off. Has anyone else dealt with any of this? Does the restlessness go away? I'm currently trying to find a way to channel it. If my husband physically sits me down at my sewing machine, I can let it out that way, but he has to put me there. For some reason I can't put myself there. SashaSue
The big thing to remember with Latuda is that you have to eat with it, I think about 350 calories. It wasn't great for me, but I wasn't great about remembering to eat with it.
celtickarasu
That's been hard for me. I don't like to eat when it is this hot. But I've managed at least 350 calories.
llama44
Didn't work for me. But it may work well for you. Who knows. Made me manic then I crashed. I'm now back on Zyprexa Zydis which seems to work much better for me.
AnneMarie
The restlessness sounds like akathesia. It is a side effect of antipsychotics. Awful. There are meds like cogentin that can help with it.Talk to your pdoc.
Anna
It definitely sounds like akathesia, whiich can be treated. The naseua may be from quel w/d (quel really settles my stomach) or from taking the new med. It would be hard to say at this point. Call pdoc? celtickarasu
I've got a pdoc appointment next week. In the mean time, I've been Wii Boxing, which has helped a lot. Thanks for the advice.
Hellokitty5272
OK Hi! I'm new to the board and after being off of ANY meds for almost exactly 3 years due to my sons gestation, birth, and breast feeding for a long ass time. I finally went back to a pdoc today who proscribe said Latuda. I am a treasure trove of kookieness (voices, bugs crawling on me feeling, depression so on and so forth) Since being out of the med game for so long I was trying to see what I could on this. It looks like not a lot. So if everyone who has posted would like to give periodic updates on how its going for you Id like to know. I had been on Abilify, prozac, haldol, cogentin cocktail when I went cold turkey the day I found i was with child. I'm a bit afraid of what it's going to do seeing now I have a 2 year old to look after. I also several years ago almost died with a Seroquel,Depakote, rispidal prescription. I went into liver failure. So that is also a big concern with me. My pdoc said to take it in the morning so I start tomorrow. Although some have said it makes you tired. I guess I will find out tomorrow what it does to me. AnneMarie
Keep posting. My pdoc is talking about this med as a possible change.
celtickarasu
I'm going to end up posting this twice, because I don't know if this is a symptom of going on Latuda or off Seroquel. I get the weird, "only 1 person out of 1000 got this" side effects. I am having excessive salivation. I think this is more of the Seroquel, because of past experience with missing Seroquel doses, but I can't promise it's not Latuda.
AnneMarie
Please don't post the same thing in multiple places. We consolidate it back into one.If you have a different issue with Seroquel that's fine, but the same post as here, no so cool.
celtickarasu
I have slept a total of 10 hours in the last 2 nights, which is better than the 0 hours in 3 days that happened when I tried to jump from 150 mgs to 0 mgs. Still, I want, no NEED, more sleep. I've gotten used to needing 10 hrs of sleep every night. I wonder if that will dial back by not being on the Seroquel. I didn't used to need this much. I'm not as nauseated or throwing up. I am having some lower digestion issues, but nowhere near the diarrhea I had before. I've been excessively salivating though, a small but annoying problem. I haven't found anything about that in connection with Seroquel, but it has happened in the past when I have missed doses, so I'm pretty sure it is related. All in all, I'm not at that desperate "I want to die" place that I was in last week. And I've lost a couple of pounds. I will continue to chart this journey if significantness occurs. Aurochs
Topics merged. Both are atypical antipsychotics, so there's really no reason to post this anywhere else (except maybe cocktails). Double-posting also makes things harder to follow, so it's in your best interests to keep it in the same thread. Has the restlessness gotten any better since your last post? You can try taking Benadryl - it might help patch things up a little bit until you can get a better solution in place.
celtickarasu
No prob. I was trying to keep the Latuda and the Seroquel issues separate. I can see why that won't work.
