area99
I was recently put on a titration of Lamictal for my agitated depression. It actually seems to be causing more of what the dr. prescribed it for would be a way to describe it. It's getting to the point of being interolable. However, I would not want to miss out on a potentially helpful med. Anybody else experience this effect from Lamictal? If so, how long did it take to go away? Anna
yes, lamictal is a tough one for that. titration can be all kinds of difficult. I'd agree with di that you may want to add something to deal with this porblem in the short term if you can. 100-150 really is "threrapeutic dose' or at least it's considered to be. i was not jittery going up, but i sure had trouble coming off. that said, they had to stop it completely as I had sjs. are there things that help you if you feel agitated/jittery? Anna I could very much use an add on med or something to the Lamictal. I remember being on lithium...that made me less jittery...I remember being on Zyprexa and Seroquel (separately), those made me feel less jittery too. Either that or ask him to raise the Klonopin (which I would rather not do because the dose is already pretty high) but if it has to, so be it. I'm not sure about Ativan ... is it safe to use two benzos at once Jogging helps too, but it only does so much...
mcjimjam
Yeah, I was like that too. I got on Seroquel for that and it helped with that and also my sleep so I stayed on it. You could take an AAP for the short-term just as you adjust to Lamictal? You're already on benzos so I can't think of another option really : / P.S. I'm not a doctor
