Friz
Is it just me or is the only time I don't feel hypo/manic is the first 6 hours after I take it and go for my nap. Isn't it supposed to still work on the receptors for a lot longer?
rowen
Are you dividing up your doses? It could be more withdrawalish symptoms, too - I get kind of twitchy towards the tail end of a dose. It feels kind of hypomanic (same thing happens if I miss my Effexor), but it's not. If you feel like it isn't working out for you, there are plenty more drugs in the sea. AnneMarie
Geodon has a very short half-life and usually needs to be taken twice a day.
Friz
I do take it twice daily, the first time at 10:30 and the second time around 8. I've been needing to take my 1mg of klonopin everyday in order to get through the late afternoon. I'm just so sick of the medicine merry-go-round. Everything I've tried so far either didn't work or had too many side effects. I'm gonna ask about lithium when I go back to the pdoc on the 19th. AnneMarie
Lithium has worked much better for me over the years. I had to take Geodon three times a day and still had withdrawal like symptoms. It gave me serious chills and exasperated my symptoms instead of improving them. It was a very bad experience. It's unlikely to be so bad for you, but not all meds are right for everyone. Friz
Thanks. I may just give the pdoc a call about a med switch since I'd rather do it now than wait and have to keep taking the klonopin in order to function properly since benzos scare me.
