dancesintherain
I looked through a few pages and didn't see something on this... starting wellbutrinXL either tonight or tomorrow morning. What do people recommend based on prior experiences? is it an am med or a pm med? I'm guessing, based on the fact that one of my pdoc's goals is that it'll increase my energy, is that i should go for morning...but I wanted to know if there was a general consensus or if it was a ymmv situation. TheGreenRoom
For me, it's an AM med. It definitely makes me feel more awake.
The Emperor
I took my first dose during the day and fell asleep on the couch, so I started taking it at night after that.
olga
I take it in the morning, but I can't say that it gives me energy. I just don't take any pills at night except some vitamins & aspirin. olga
crtclms
My dose is split into two. 150mg am/pm. But at first, it was a little speedy. I would start it in the AM for now.
water
I take mine in the morning and I would definitely recommend taking the XL in the morning. My first few weeks on the medication were very activating.
snugglepuss
My doctor has me take my dose in the morning.
dancesintherain
Thanks everyone for the feedback...it seems like there's some variation, but more morning than night. I was actually starting to think that maybe evening would make sense...if I'm having trouble getting out of bed in the morning and the hope is that may change, then it'll be harder for it to change if I can't get out of bed in the morning to take it. But then I quashed that theory because after it got into my bloodstream enough, it's not like it'll be starting all over each morning. Duh. The bigger realization came when I got the Rx filled and saw that my psychiatrist wrote on it "take 1-2 pills in morning." guess that makes that decision easy. I just couldn't read his handwriting. [the 1-2 is so that the insurance fills it at the higher dose that i might end up taking...I start with 150, but could end up on 300 after a bit...so if he writes it as one to two, they have to give me one month of 300]
Velvet Elvis
I take the SR, but it can cause me insomnia if I take my second dose too late.
Anna
yes, mostly it is prescribed for a.m. use due to insomnia issues. i am surprised, actually, at the number of people who do take it at night. for me it was definitely too activating for night time use. anna
Laume
I started it on Tuesday and was told to take it in the am by my doctor and the pharmacist...so AM for me too
