spaceman
Lamictal and wellbutrin not working, never have really. Anyone have any ideas for something to add to the mix. I guess this combo cuts off the ultra high and super low but not much. I'm trying to avoid impotence at least and then maybe weight gain. Any suggestions? SashaSue
What kind of symptoms are you looking to address? Depression, mania, mixed state?

netsavy006
What doses of the Lamical and Wellbutrin are you on? Can you adjust the dose of your current meds? What other medication(s) have you tried? Lithium is the classic med to help mania and depression. It can also be taken with Lamictal. There are several other mood stabilizing medications aside from lithium, like Depakote. Both Lithium and Depakote will require blood work to measure the levels of the medication in the blood. I don't now how often for Depakote, but for Lithium after you get to a stable dose, the blood work is every 3 to 4 months. I hope this helps some, Andy
spaceman
Tried lithium and depakote in the past but I probably never gave them long enough to work. I'm on 450 mg of lamictal and 300 mg of wellbutrin. I currently cycle 30 up and 30 down right now. If I tried lithium would I need a smaller dose because of the lamictal? AnneMarie
If you are cycling, you should probably talk to your pdoc about retrialing Depakote or trying Tegretol. Both supposedly are better than Lithium with cycling. As for med dosages when on a cocktail, there might be a little sense to it, but it's mostly trial and error as far as I know. netsavy006
If you are willing to give antipsychotics a try for mood, I know that Zyprexa and Abilify have mood stabilizing properties and can be used alone or with a mood stabilizer to help treat mood problems.
