10 days on Wellbutrin XL and dizziness?

Recommended Posts

Hello All

Yesterday I started feeling "room spinny" when I was in the midst of having a few hours of tattoo work done.

I attributed it to the endorphin rush...but it continued all afternoon and evening.

This morning I seemed okay but I swear, 1/2 hour after taking 150mg I am feeling the dizziness again.

Is this a side effect? Will it go away? Should I call my pdoc in the am?

I was thinking it may be a little dehydration since it is super hot and humid and I don't think I drank enough water yesterday...

Thanks

I get the dizzies from Wellbutrin too. I think the side effect goes away for some people, but I've been on it for about 6 months now and I still get dizzy several times a day. My pdoc said I just have to decide if I can live with that SE or if we need to try another med. I decided it helps me enough that I can live with it. I hope it goes away for you.

Laume, if it is super hot and humid, you need to drink lots of water, and then you might be diluting your electrolytes. So a glass of Gatorade, or eating a banana, and having something with some salt in it might do the trick. The lightheaded feeling (spinny) is very typical of dehydration.

I'm not saying you should rule out WB, but try the liquids and see it that helps.

Laume -

Nothing surprises me with Wellbutrin - it made me wiggy as all get out. Here's another thought that may or may not have any relevance, but you mention that this occurred after having several hours of tattoo work done - it might be worth it to mention this to your pdoc just in case some kind of allergic reaction or chemical interaction is occurring between your meds and the tattoo inks. I'm not suggesting that's likely, but we're basically all big bags of chemicals anyway, and you never know what's going to combine in unexpected ways.
