crab76
Trying to get some info on this Brand New Antidepressant Viibryd. I'm currently on Wellbutrin & Abilify and been gaining weight on abilify and honestly my symptoms are coming back because I can't seem to increase my does. (only on 2mg) SO~ my Pdoc wants me to replace both my meds for Viibrid. Any info would be great!
netsavy006
I've never taken it myself, but I did a search and happened to come across the PI sheet for it: http://www.frx.com/pi/viibryd_pi.pdf Hope this helps, Andy
null0trooper
Trying to get some info on this Brand New Antidepressant Viibryd. I'm currently on Wellbutrin & Abilify and been gaining weight on abilify and honestly my symptoms are coming back because I can't seem to increase my does. (only on 2mg) The drug's effects on 5HT1A may be mostly similar to a low AAP dosage, but you would be swapping a noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor for a serotonin reuptake inhibitor. Some of the information available suggests that when taken as directed it may avoid some of the more annoying side effects of the SSRIs (or they might not be as bad as with the usual suspects)
crab76
So if Im understanding right.... it's like an SSRI & low dose AAP all in one? That's a good thing for me. Yea he said it's not like any other medication out there. I pray I like it!
Anna
I think I read a poster about this one on my gdoc's office wall, if I am recalling correctly. I remember the name because it was such a great name, reminded me of "vibrator". Sorry I could not be of more help, but it of course, per the poster, sounded fantastic. crab76
Haha Anna... I thought that too. Vibrator! lol I found this site that explains how it works in "kinda" layman terms. http://chipur.com/2011/03/01/viibryd-a-new-antidepressant-but-anything-exciting/ They compare part of it to abilify with the way it works. + SSRI with no sexual side effects. Pretty cool. My Pdoc says that if it works the way the pharmaceutical co says that it will be a huge success cuz there isn't anything else like it. I'm excited to give it a try. Pick up my sampels in a lil bit.
Anna
Oh, screw that then, if it works like abilify. Heh. Anna That's okay, I'm off any and all ADs but emsam for life. I will TRY that, if needed, and if it fucks me up, give up on ADs in disgust. I won't do TCAs due to heart issues... and well.... yeah.
dedoubt
Seriously, who comes uo with these names?! Not only does it sound like vibrator, but with the two "i's" I'll bet nobody will be able to decide how to pronounce it-- like a long E? Two short I's? Der.... I won't do TCAs due to heart issues... and well.... yeah. God, Anna, I am so sorry. I had my heart checked before starting mine, and it's supposed to be fine, but I do get some palpitations that freak me out sometimes. Even with that, I am really glad to find an AD I could use..... Anna
Well, MAOIs are supposed to be the drugs that cause the least manic switching anyway. I read a lit review once and I so can't find it anymore, which pisses me the hell off, because it was awesome. It summarized all the research so far and compared. I want it to give to my doc as ammo, but I've pretty much broken him in lately, so I think he'll do it if I get demanding enough. I'm hoping dbt and the risperdal will hold this off for me, frankly. Risperdal has a significant AD effect on me, more so than quel. So we shall see. But, it's MAOIs or nothing, after this. If the depression comes, I'll just have to COPE the SHIT out of it and deal, man. Sigh. Anna ETA: I need to update my med sig again. Heh. All the damn time I do this, all the damn time. Oh well, episode will end SOMETIME.
