Hello, world.

Recommended Posts

I've been poking around the website for the last few weeks, sort of fading back and forth between denial and acceptance of my BP II dx from about a month and a half ago. I had a kind of milestone this week though (first medication rejiggering!) when I got a rash from the Lamictal (not THE rash, fortunately, but that's all it takes to move you on to something else). So, I threw myself on the mercy of the pharmacological court last night (aka my pdoc) and am off to the atypical antipsychotic realm with a sampling of Abilify (say it with me 'Abilify', 'Abilify', 'Abiify', it sort of rolls of the tongue, doesn't it?). Oh, and with some lorazepam to boot. At this point, I figured I'll probably be spending enough time around here to warrant an introduction, so:

Hi!

Welcome :) Sorry you rashed out on Lamictal, but hopefully Abilify will treat you right.

If you haven't already, take a look at our rules, and feel free to PM a staff member if you need help with anything.

I'm in a similar boat to you, DPshaw, recent re-diagnosis to BP II and a tiny, cloying dose of Abilify that I started on Wednesday.

Makes me feel like my head is a bowling ball and there's a dead skunk wedged up my ass, but otherwise, I'm actually pretty good.

Guess we'll figure this out in tandem. Welcome to CB.

I am doing ok with Abilify so far. The only side effect is some mild "restless leg". It does seem to be helping level me out, but the plan is to up then dosage a bit or augment with some depakote if the "restless leg" doesn't back off. Good luck with your pharmaceutical adventure!
