k_a_n_a_t_a
Took 1mg of clonazepam last night for this crazy insomnia I got going on. Woke up two hours later and took another 0.5mg as my doc suggested. Thankfully got another four hours sleep. But all day I've had this bad headache behind my eyes and it feels like there is an odd stinging sensation in my sinuses. Is this normal? This is my first time really taking this benzo. I've tried Ativan, Xanax and Valium in the past and they never had any effect on my sleep/mood in anyway. I'm usually immune to side effects. chimpmaster
Hmm, are you drinking lots of water? It could be dehydration..
Sleepz
Well, I don't really know. Clonazepam isn't a great choice for PRN. I think you probably just have a bad reaction to the drug. It could be anything. All benzodiazepines mess with your sleep architecture. If I recall correctly, clonazepam supresses at least two sleep stages. If you sleep long enough you'll get the sleep you need. Probably. Taking clonazepam twice a night as you did could cause problems. Have you considered a hypnotic benzodiazepine ? k_a_n_a_t_a
Hmm..I've upped my water intake but that's doing nothing nor is the Clonazepam. I'm back to living on about two hours sleep a night and it is getting kind of hellish. I haven't considered any hypnotic benzos. I'm not a big fan of benzos in the first place for the addiction factor I've heard of but my pdoc seems to love to give them out. and I'm getting kind of desperate sleep wise. crtclms
My understanding is that benzos aren't good long term for sleep, because you habituate to the drowsiness. I was only drowsy on Xanax for about a week (if that), I take that twice a day. The addiction factor is exaggerated. Usually, if you follow your script, you will at worst become dependent, which is totally different. Addiction is an illness, dependence is not.
