papertrees
My pdoc put me on Invega 9mg to stop hallucinations. But put in Zyprexa Zydis 5mg to control delusions. Does this seem like overkill to you? He also upped my lamictal to 250mg. I should say that I was on Zyprexa Zydis 10 mg before, but had to stop because I was too damn lethargic on it. If this cocktail doesn't work, it's clozapine time for me. And I'm scared. Please, input needed. Thanks.
Anna
If you are moving on to clozapine next, I say give this one a try. Invega is new, it's a bit hard to know how you will react, but it may be very helpful. I take two AAPs at the moment and I NEED them. It's okay to be on two if you have to.... I'd rather take my quel/risperdal combination that clozapine, just due to the PITA of monitoring and whatnot. Give it a chance, I'd say. jt07
I remember that not long ago you were talking about being depressed. Did your pdoc give you something for the depression? Or do you think that the Zyprexa Zydis was too high and making you depressed? The important thing is how you are feeling on this combo.
papertrees
My pdoc gave me zyprexa + prozac for the depression, and that caused all kinds of weirdness, but the depression lifted somehow, although it left me with unbearable lethargy, which was why the combo had to go. So Invega took its place. But then, the delusions came raging back, and so Zyprexa is back in the picture. I was just wondering if this is overkill, dopamine-wise. I know that both drugs are potent. y58
If the combo is controlling your symptoms, hard to say if it's overkill. Go with what works
